Day 7- Nathan Angel- Last day in Buenos Aires

Hello All!

I apologize to those waiting for my post! I struggled to find service in the airport as we prepared to leave for San Juan. So I’m creating this post from the bus on the way to our new San Juan hotel. This last day in the city was hectic to say the least. Today there was a very large demonstration in the city that went crazy fast. After a wonderful rehearsal with a local university Choir. Me and a group of friends took the subway to get to the San Telmo Market to eat and shop.

While there, I purchased gifts for my family, including a late Father’s Day present for my dad. (Hi dad if you’re reading this!). I also sat down at a cafe to try maté 🧉 for someone who doesn’t usually like tea, I surprisingly really enjoyed it!

After San Telmo, my group walked through a lovely park to a grouping of a few food trucks and ate dinner overlooking a beutiful lake. The burger I had came with an egg on top with ham cooked into the egg. This formed a delicious topping for a great burger. I finished the day off by getting back to the hotel early and taking a load off for the night to get ready for an early start for the flight this morning.

Overall, a good last day in Buenos Aires!(if you’re reading this, Hi mom!!)

Day 2 - Drake Hammack - Buenos Aries!!

Today we landed in Buenos Aires and got our first taste of the new sights, sounds and cultures we get to experience on this tour. After finishing a long 9 hour plane ride -and getting through customs- we took taxis to our hotel which lies right in the middle of downtown. Just walking through the streets of downtown was a great experience, many beautiful buildings surround the area. Some standouts for me were the museum and the cathedral. Packed in between the wonderful architecture were so many little shops and food vendors it was hard to choose which ones to stop at and which to walk by. Eventually the group I was with stopped at a bookstore. The store was decorated from top to bottom in antique signs and furniture, and the whole store had that old book smell. We even found a shelf full of classical music recordings, full of a bunch of composers and pieces a bunch of music nerds on a choir tour instantly recognized. Day 1 - Tristen Bara - Travel Day Fun!(?)

Hi everyone! This is Tristen, a soprano of Shrine. Our first day of tour was simply a travel days, and we’ve experienced some bumps along the road (as anyone would). Our first flight out of PHX to ATL got delayed about 90 minutes total, and our whole group arrived around 11am for check-in, so we hung out at the airport for quite some time! Most of us circled up and played some card games (a lot of us in Shrine love card games, so we had basically an unlimited variety of decks and options!). Our first plane finally arrived around 2:30. Our first flight wasn’t too bad! Little turbulence, we all managed to stay awake to sleep on our long flight. In the last hour of the flight a group of us randomly started a trivia game we found on our small seat screens! I believe another soprano, Ava, ended up winning it all! We finally reached Atlanta, and all of us SPRINTED to the nearest shuttle to get to our next gate, when lo and behold our next flight has also been delayed. This one end...

Day 1 - Jane Carreón - First Time Flyer Tips

Hey there, future jet setter! As someone who's flown more times than I can count, I know how overwhelming flying can be, especially if you're new to it or don't know the tricks of flying. But don't worry - I've got you covered with some tried and true the tips to make your first place smooth and enjoyable. 1. Food Matters - Pack Smart Airport service is often overpriced and underwhelming (except for the Panera I found in Terminal 3 before our flight today - yum!).
